MOSAIC MONDAY - HOAR FROST

Struggling to come up with a mosaic for Mary's Mosaic Monday. then realized the beautiful Hoar Frost occurance we had this past week!  By noon, once the temps warmed up it was all gone....until then it was so gorgeous to see!

When frost forms as minute ice crystals covering the ground, we just call it all frost. But sometimes the frost grains grow larger and are called hoar frost crystals. Good hoarfrost is not that uncommon if you watch for it. Hoar frost grows whenever it's cold outside and there is an ample source of water vapor nearby.

I'm sharing this mosaic for Mosaic Monday at Mary's Little Red House   You'll see some outstanding photography and I've heard it is Mary's birthday as well.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY  !!

Beautiful hoar frost! We don't have any of that up north, just a bunch of wet snow...and it's still snowing.

Barb, the perfect mosaic for the weather you've been having this January. The hoar frost is beautiful, and it's amazing that it comes and goes so quickly.

Your photos of the hoar frost make a beautiful mosaic, Barb! I would love to see it as thick and beautiful here one day.

What a beautiful wintery mosaic! We have had a little freezing rain on trees this week...but nothing as amazing as that! I also wanted to tell you that I think your email photo is so clever!
About the bow...here's a link to a tutorial that Kristen did for a tree topper. It would be the same thing on a smaller scale without the long "tails" and maybe not poofed quite so round. Hope it helps!

You did a wonderful job with the mosaic. Fresh snow and ice are always gorgeous to see - especially if you can view it from inside a warm and cozy house :-). I hope you are having a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
