Mysterious Wild Yellow Rose Bush....

I received an email from a friend who told me of a beautiful wild yellow rose bush in her front yard.  It mysteriously appeared about six years or so ago and has been growing and blooming every year.  I had been up to Kristy's home a few weeks ago taking some photos.. she has a beautiful shaded area of ferns and hosta that I wanted to take some photos.  Back to the wild yellow rose bush.. it was absolutely amazing.....

In doing a little research on wild rose bushes I came across this...

"Birds have perfect little mills of stomachs for grinding worms and seeds, but rose-hips are so thick and hard that it must take the birds days to digest them. The seeds inside are like little stones wrapped in spiny hairs, so they pass right through the birds unharmed, and are planted far away. In this way the wild rose has been scattered by birds over many parts of the northern world, from very cold countries almost to the hot tropics, and far up mountain sides. "

Kristy thinks this is how the rose bush came to be, and after reading up on it, I totally agree.  With a pure luck of nature, she had this gorgeous specimen to enjoy year after year!

Some other photos I took that day at Kristy's and my sister, Laurie ....

A few of Kristy's 4-legged babies....

"JAKE"

This little one was questioning just WHAT I was doing...

Such a sweet face.. but I think someone mentioned the name..... "Kathleen"

Thanks for stopping by.....

Beautiful photos, Barb. I especially like the shot of the tricycle in the woods, and that lovely yellow rose bush too.

I think that rose knew what it was doing taking a ride in just the right bird so that it could land in Kristy's beautiful yard :-) Kathleen..how sweet lol. Beautiful photos my friend.

She's really lucky she got a rose bush, Barb. All I ever manage to get is the poop :)

Gorgeous shots! I really like the trike pic, something about it, just so sweet!

LOL, Kathleen. Bet she closes her eyes!

Barb, great pictures from your friend Kristy's gardens. I knew that bird droppings were often responsible for random "plantings" which makes the yellow rose bush even more remarkable considering its origins. Cute pets ...

What a beautiful yellow color! How lucky your friend was that the birds decided to plant it in her yard. I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful garden photos - felt like I was on a little tour with you :)
