Martha's Madelines

Was going through my files to see what I could post for Flashback Friday, which is hosted by Suzy from Kitchen Bouquet.  ( Check out her blog for other flashbacks)  THEN, I saw where Carol had posted about her madelines.  WELL, let me tell you MY madelines are fantastic, easy to make, and I use a mini madeline pan so you don't feel as guilty when you pop two, three or more in a single setting.

Some I left plain, while others I topped them with powdered sugar.  Check out my link from 2009 HERE for the recipe and more photos.  Personally, I think using cake flour and adding the lemon oil makes this recipe absolutely scrumptious!!!

I'm also joining Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday..check out Michael's blog for some great recipes!  For a sing-a-long as you're making a batch of these beauties go no futher than "Paddlin Madeline Home"

I love a girl named Madeline

I know she loves me, too

For ev'ry night the moon is bright

She rides in my canoe

At midnight on the river

I heard her father call,

But she don't care and I don't care

If we get back at all

'Cause when I'm paddlin' Madeline home

Gee! When I'm paddlin' Madelin' home

First I drift with the tide,

Then pull for the shore

I hug her and kiss her

And paddle some more

Then I keep paddlin' Madeline home

Until I find a spot where we're alone

Oh! She never says "No"

So I kiss her and go

Paddlin' Madeline

Sweet sweet Madeline

Paddlin' Madeline home

'Cause when I'm paddlin' Madeline home

Gee! When I'm paddlin' Madeline home

First I kiss her a while

And when I get through

I paddle for one mile

And drift back for two

Then I keep paddlin' Madeline home

Until I find a spot where we're alone

Oh! If she'd only say "Throw your paddles away"

Paddlin' Madeline

Sweet sweet Madeline

Paddlin' Madeline home

■This song is performed by various people, the most notable version is by Cliff Edwards who was the voice of Jimminy Cricket.

I got news for you, kiddo, mine are so much better, LOL! but good idea on the teeny ones! I have the teeny pan, too! But who am I kidding, I'll just have to eat twice as much that way :)

Have a very Happy Easter!

I have never made madelines, so if you want me to choose a favorite recipe, just ship me some and perhaps Carol will do the same!!

I love madeleines. Bought some today at a little bakery near the house. I should make them but hey they were handy! Sorry I didn't have the FF post up for you to link these.
