Flashback Friday - Chicken Pot Pie
Just a very quick post to join Suzy at Kitchen Bouquet with her "Flashback Friday" Check out her post and the links to other flashbacks!!
This was actually the very first chicken pot pie I ever made one year ago - the photo was taken on Oct 18, 2008!! I only remembered it after I saw Mary's post on One Perfect Bite showing us her chicken pot pie! After reading her recipe I won't even bother posting mine! There are so many out on the net but I'm anxious to try Mary's... especially since it is "tried and true".
Time to think about warm, homey, filling meals for the cold months ahead. The chicken pot pie is one that is hard to beat when you think of the ultimate 'comfort food'.
Get your chickie dishes out and cook up a storm!!!

Your chicken pot pie wins for cute! The butternut squash recipe sounds delicious--I made some last year and it was tasteless--I'll try yours!
Great flashback! I remember your Chicken pot pie, looks fantastic! I never did get those dishes, I'm holding out for blue ones :) What a cluck!
I was just thinking of pulling out my chickie dishes to make pot pies...now I know I have to after seeing your beauty :)
Just think one year ago...the group dynamic of the db's sure was different as we all had fun with our chickies.
Love your pot pie and your beautiful gingham dishes! We both had pot pies on the brain :-) Thanks for joining me for the flashback this week!
Yes, blue would have been better for me too, but I have the red..so that will be it.
Really, the first time you ever made pot pie last year??
I have to go look at Mary's recipe to see what is different..
Fun flashback, Barb..
Barb, what a fun flashback ... I love your finished chickie with all its details. Looks like comfort food to me, and the red gingham plate is perfect.
I remember the fun we all had making pot pies :) I have to get out my chickie dishes soon!
Thank you for the nod. I really love your chicken molds. They're just too cute for words. As to not printing you recipe - it's probably every bit as good as mine. CPP is like shepherd's pie. There are a million ways to make it and the majority of them are wonderful. I read your blog everyday. I'll bet your CPP is delicious. I haven't found a bad recipe here.
Looks good, Barb. May be time for me to make pot pies again... I have the red dishes and got them in yellow too!
As soon as we lose some of the weight we gained from eating all weekend I need to make pot pies again - yum!
